At the end of August Neil regretfully decided to leave Puressence. There was no big incident, he explained he hadn’t been happy for a while and he decided to leave the band on very good terms.

We need to make it very clear to you all that it’s not the end of Puressence in any way, shape or form.......just the next phase.

And to kick off the next phase, we’d like to introduce you to our new guitarist, Lowell Killen. Lowell’s 26, from the Isle Of Man. He has been living in Manchester and has played in a number of local bands. He already liked the band very much and knew most of the songs which was a great help. We’d like you to join us in making Lowell feel very welcome.

We are very grateful to Neil for agreeing to stay on to appear with us at the In The City/ Key 103 Stage gig and the Roadhouse back in September, especially as these two gigs went ahead a considerable time after he had already made his decision. Neil has also been working with Lowell to run through the songs, effects etc since he left so he couldn’t have been more co-operative and he remains a very good friend of the band.

One final word.......obviously we know a few of you (friends of the band etc) already knew about this event and have done so for some time. We’d like to give sincere thanks to those who did know for your discretion and care in not letting the news out. It means everything when we know we can trust in people and you’ve proved that so much. We simply didn’t want to let the news out before a firm decision on a replacement had been made to ensure a smooth transition, the minimum of forum-induced panic and to remain respectful to Neil.
